Tuesday, May 16, 2023 | 12:00 - 12:45 pm PT
This webinar is hosted by Everyone for Veterans. It is the second in a series of informational webinars to discuss the state of veterans' oral health, the unique challenges and barriers to care that veterans experience, and practical steps that civilians and dental professionals can take to improve the quality of life for those who have served.
Oral health impacts overall physical and mental health. Veterans living in poverty are more likely to experience oral health issues and without access to dental care, many find themselves trapped in their circumstances. This is why a relational and comprehensive approach to dental care is so impactful and transformative for our nation’s veterans.
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we will be discussing the following objectives:
1. Understanding the mental health challenges of veterans and its impact on their dental health.
2. Recognizing existing barriers to dental care for veterans.
3. Developing an understanding of the strategies and techniques available to help veterans manage mental health challenges during dental care.
4. Identifying practical steps that you can take to improve the quality of life for veterans and their families in your local community.
